Medical Herbalists are trained healthcare professionals who hold a minimum degree level qualification in herbal medicine. They are trained in diagnosis skills same as GP however they take holistic approach when diagnosing & make natural prescriptions. Our Medical Herbalists are members of self regulatory professional body NIMH (National Institute of Medical Herbalists) 

Hakeem or Tabbib are Arabic words, simply mean a physician practitioner, the word Unani mean Greco which reflects old Greek medicine. In Ancient Middle Eastern, Persian, Greco-Arabic and Eastern Medicine the Hakeem or the Tabbib were privileged tittles given to a health physician. A very well known Persian physician Avicenna (Abu Ali al-Ḥusayn ibn Abd Allah ibn al-Ḥasan ibn Ali ibn Sina)  was also known as Hakeem  or Tabbib. These tittles are still used for practitioners who graduated in Eastern Medicine or Herbalism. Still in some South Asian and Middle Eastern region, a Hakeem is a formal science graduate who learns herbal medicine and minor surgeries over 4-5 years of intensive degree study, they may work in complimentary health department in hospitals or have private clinics and are regulated by local healthcare bodies. 

Herbal medicine also known as natural medicine or phyto-medicine, phytotherapy or botanical medicine. It contains ingredients made from natural resources or plants such as flowers, leaves, barks, roots or fruit. It is the oldest form of healthcare in human history that dates back to some 8000-10000 years. Herbal medicine prescriptions may be in the form of tinctures, syrups, floral waters, teas and powders for internal use or for external use such as sprays, creams or balms. 

Herbal medicines are not synthetic drugs so is indeed a safe form of treatment when administered according to the advise of a qualified herbalist. Herbal medicine is generally safe with no or minimum unsought effects when administered carefully. Every herb contains many therapeutic constituents and dietary nutrients that influence more than one body system organs. They have holistic effects on the body to help with ailments. It is advised that a medical herbalist or a healthcare professional should be consulted prior to use of any herbal medications. 

Our practitioner into account any medical treatment you are receiving. Clients are advised to provide the details of their treatment, prescription drugs and any supplements they take so our medical herbalist can review herbs-drug interactions from available clinical data when making prescriptions. While many of the herb-drug interactions have no or limited clinical significance however information related to your treatment can be made available to you and your doctor any time. Our herbalist seek to work safely around your current medical treatment and allowing you to ultimately make informed choices about your treatment to achieve health goals. Clients are advised against the self mixing the herbs and other treatment freely without the care and proper advice. 

Holistic assessment is to take human body as a whole when establishing the possible underlying root cause of health disturbance and not just focusing on the symptoms or signs when creating a treatment plan. This is in the view of the fact that an affected organ or system of the body co-functions with other systems and influenced by biological, social, emotional, physical  & environmental factors. Hence a holistic approach takes entire body into account along with other factors having impact on it.

If you like to cancel an appointment, you should contact us 48 hours prior to your appointment date/time. If you cancel before 48 hours, we will refund 80% of total fees. Appointment cancelled within 48 hours of appointment date/time will have 80% of the total fee retained and 20% refunded. If you have missed your appointment, we allow a rebooking at no rebooking cost. Please contact us for assistance. 

Due to recent pandemic we we have adopted flexibility so we are able to offer distance consultation using online video systems. At practitioner’s discretion you may be advise to see practitioners in person if it is essential. 

First consultation usually lasts from 60-80 minutes. During your first consultation our practitioner will gather following information:

  • Ask questions about your health, ailments, symptoms.
  • Ask questions about your lifestyle
  • Take your full history
  • Family history
  • Details of any medications
  • Any supplements you take

If its not a remote consultation then practitioner may also do a physical examination if necessary this includes: 

  • Examining skins, nails, observing tongue, eyes, posture.
  • Feeling pulse
  • Take blood pressure.
  • Examine any medical record if you have provided

After consultation practitioner will decide that type of medication you may require and how long you may need to take treatment. You will be given informed choice to make a decision. You will be advised if you need another appointment or a follow up appointment. A follow up consultation is usually booked after 2-3 weeks of to assess the treatment given or if  medication requires some adjustment. 
You may have to wait while your prescription is being dispensed or you may be informed if home delivery or collection is being arranged. 

How long a herbal treatment will last depends on the nature of health conditions. Some acute problems or minor ailments may require short term treatment whereas some chronic health conditions may require long term support. 

Our medical herbalist can formulate a bespoke nutritional or therapeutic tea based on your minor health issue or dietary needs. Teas are formulated for minor common ailments or nutritional needs such as seasonal cold, flue , energy, immune support etc, deficiency of any particular dietary element. It is at the discretion of the herbalist to advise whether this service is suitable for client or not, they may suggest an alternative. These teas contains a mixture of leafs, flowers, roots, fruits or other natural ingredients.  Teas are usually for 2-3 week’s consumption. You will need to fill in an online form which is securely received and reviewed by our in-house herbalist who then prepares tea for you.

Cupping is an ancient alternative health therapy being used for many hundreds years. Cupping therapy is an effective treatment for many condition including; muscle tension, myofascial constriction, strains, pains, it helps improve blood flow, enhances detoxification process, promotes injury recovery and helps in many other conditions. A holistic assessment is made based on the health conditions then  (external) areas body are selected  for cupping application. During the treatment cups are placed on particular areas of the body by creating negative pressure suction.  Sterile single use cups are left on the skins for a specific time (usually 3-5 minutes). In wet cupping, a practitioner makes minor superficial surgical incision on the skin then applies cups, whereas in dry cupping no superficial incision are made & only cups are applied.  Treatment may last for up to 1-2 hours. Clients may have minor to moderate uncomfortable feeling such as pinch and scratch feeling during the treatment.
